Brian from thetoyz.com and ProLineRacing.com will show you some painting techniques in this video. He is decorating his Revo truck with a special paint design. Brian is painting tears on various shells of vehicles and he got his design idea from the label of a drink can of Monster beverage. Brian suggests using "liquid" masking to mask the base vehicle and then it will be this "shell" that you draw on, which in this case is a design of tears, tear like in air. Draw some tears on the body's shell that you have molded with the liquid masking. If you make any mistakes wipe the off or remove then with some rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol and a paper towel. If you have wiped off some mistakes, be sure to let the masking tape shell dry before re-drawing some more lines. The tears will be drawn on a shell template and then cut out so you can paint over them like a stencil. The tears consist of squiggly lines that run squiggly parallel to one another for a length and then finish at a more narrow distance before closing off. Brian is going to make a shadow line first so he will be cutting out his design in two parts. Like Brian, you will want to paint the first color on the truck as silver paint. Next you apply black to the first cut outs, thicken the lines as you go over your design to create depth. Now you take your air brush or can of spray paint and using iridescent blue apply a couple of coats to the second cut outs. Use white paint (spray can or air brush) to paint the body underneath the design.
